RustyTorch++ — Phase 7 Plan (Ecosystem, Productization & Leadership)
Objective (612 months, ongoing): Evolve RustyTorch++ from a highperformance platform into the industry reference runtime by building a robust ecosystem: SDKs and language bindings, interop bridges, a community models hub, enterprisegrade tooling & support, and formal governance/compliance. Phase 7 focuses on adoption, reliability at scale, and longterm sustainability.

Application layers remain optional; this phase targets ecosystem maturity around the core runtime, compiler, distributed training, and serving.
1. Scope & NonGoals
In scope
SDKs & Language Bindings: Python, C/C++, Rust (official), Java, Node; WASM runtime preview.
Interop Bridges: DLPack/ONNX import/export; converters from PyTorch/JAX; HFstyle checkpoint tooling; model zoo compatibility.
Community Models Hub: signed, versioned model artifacts; performance leaderboards; reproducible recipes.
Enterprise Tooling: RBAC, audit logging, policy enforcement, SSO, license compliance; Stratoswarm multiregion rollout playbooks.
Release Engineering: LTS channels, backport policy, CVE response process, crash telemetry optin.
Documentation & Education: endtoend guides, examples gallery, official courses, certification.
Support & Partnerships: migration workshops, ISV/IHV partnerships, marketplace pilots.
Out of scope
New core compiler/runtime features beyond P6 unless required for ecosystem parity.
2. Success Criteria (Exit / PhaseGate)
Adoption: ≥10 flagship OSS models and ≥5 enterprise pilot deployments on RustyTorch++ with public case studies.
Developer Experience: median “timetofirsttoken” ≤10 minutes from clean install; SDK NPS ≥ 50.
Reliability: LTS channel with <1 critical defect per quarter; p95 incident MTTR ≤ 2 hours.
Interop: Import/export success for ONNX + DLPack flows; PyTorch/JAX converters pass ≥95% of selected suites.
Governance: all releases signed with SBOM; CVE policy published; SLSA level target met for CI.
Ecosystem Health: model hub with ≥100 models; performance leaderboard with reproducible submissions.
3. Pillars & Workstreams
A. SDKs & Bindings
Python: wheels (CUDA/CPU/ROCm), typing stubs, pip/conda install docs.
C/C++: stable ABI headers; cbindgen pipelines; minimal, versioned API surface.
Java/Node: JNI/NAPI shims; async streaming clients; examples.
WASM: preview of edge inference for small models; WASI target doc.
B. Interop Bridges
DLPack zerocopy interop; ONNX importer/exporter with opset mapping; converter tools for PyTorch/JAX checkpoints and graphs.
Fidelity tests: perlayer error budgets; wholemodel parity; performance comparison scripts.
C. Community Models Hub
Signed, versioned artifacts with provenance; model cards; perSKU perf metrics.
Leaderboard: tokens/sec, memory peak, p50/p95 latencies; reproducible benchmark harness.
Contribution flow: template repos; CI validations; moderation and license checks.
D. Enterprise Tooling
RBAC/SSO integration; policy bundles (export controls, license allowlists); audit logs.
Stratoswarm multiregion reference: blue/green + canary; DR runbooks; autoscaling policies.
Cost controls: GPU quota management; utilization heatmaps; rightsizing recommender.
E. Release Engineering & Security
LTS vs. Fast channels; semver discipline; backport and EOL timelines.
CVE process; security advisories; signed containers/wheels; SBOM for each release.
Crash telemetry optin with redaction; symbol servers.

Docs & education: full site, examples, migration guides, certification content.
Support: issue templates, triage playbooks, SLAs, partner kits.
5. CI Gates & Quality Bars
SDK install tests on Linux/macOS/Windows; CUDA/CPU/ROCm matrices.
Interop parity ≥95% on selected test suites; performance regressions <5% vs native paths.
Signed artifacts with SBOM; CVE workflow validated in dryruns.
Model hub submissions must reproduce on CI with same metrics (± tolerance).
Docs have runnable examples; linkcheck and doctest gates.
6. Observability & Ecosystem Metrics
Install success rate; timetofirsttoken; SDK crash rate; API latency (client SDKs).
Hub metrics: submission pass rate; leaderboard churn; top hardware SKUs.
Enterprise metrics: uptime/SLO compliance; incident MTTR; cost/utilization KPIs.
7. RACI — Phase 7 Agent Ownership
Conductor (Orchestrator) — Accountable: phase delivery, dependency orchestration.
Ecosystem/Interop Agent — Responsible: DLPack/ONNX bridges; converters; compatibility suites.
Docs & SDK Agent — Responsible: SDKs, examples, docs site, doctests.
DevOps Engineer — Responsible: release pipelines, wheels/conda containers, platform matrices.
Security Engineer & Auditor — Accountable: CVE workflow, SBOM/signing, artifact policy.
SRE Engineer — Responsible: production runbooks, multiregion Stratoswarm playbooks.
Performance Engineer — Consulted: parity benchmarks and leaderboard validation.
Governance & Provenance Agent — Responsible: artifact provenance, policy enforcement.
Agent Organizer — Accountable: tool allowlists, routing, freeze on gate failures.
8. Risks & Mitigations
Interop drift → maintain opset mapping table; nightly parity runs; community issue templates.
Release complexity → channel discipline; automation; backport policy and scoreboard.
Security regressions → SBOM + signing enforced; CVE drill practice.
Docs rot → CI link checks; doctests; ownership for each section.
Support load → tiered SLAs; partner enablement; community moderators.
9. Timeline (suggested)
Quarter 1: SDKs/bindings; interop tools; parity suites; initial model hub + leaderboard.
Quarter 2: Enterprise toolkit; multiregion Stratoswarm playbooks; LTS channel + CVE process; docs site v1; certification beta.
Quarter 3+: Marketplace pilots; partner reference architectures; expanded examples; adoption campaigns.
